Vestas Factory

The Vestas Americas Tools department services Construction, Service, Transport, Serious Incident, and Continuous Improvement Management tools for the installation and servicing of Vestas wind turbines. These heavy machinery tools provide safe and quality lifting of wind turbine components at construction sites in North America. These service sites are at the forefront of providing Vestas to be the world leader in wind energy. The Manager, Technical Repair will have extensive knowledge of tooling and mechanical repair, personnel and leadership development, and promote a safe working environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain warehouse safety and organization to Vestas' safety standards and expectations.

  • Identifies, generates buy-in, and promotes performance and cost savings initiatives.

  • Oversee day-to-day tooling repair and maintenance operations, establishing priorities and optimizing resources to ensure repairs are completed on-time, and to standard.

  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operational problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

  • Provide regular performance feedback to subordinates. Develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; High school diploma or GED may be substituted with the equivalent level of proven experience

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in positions of increasing responsibility. Experience in warehousing, distribution, retail, maintenance, repair works, or food service.

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience with SAP or ERP/MRP software for supply chain /inventory management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other software programs

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Operation of vehicles and plant equipment

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
