Inbound Specialist

The Inbound Specialist is responsible to direct and coordinate activities of logistics department in processing shipping and movement of turbine components, storing, inventorying, ordering, receiving, issuing materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and direct shipping/warehouse activities implementing best practices with regards to stock levels, WIP, inventory days and inventory levels.
• Responsible for issues regarding quality, safety, health and environment for Logistics employees. Ensures that all safety and security procedures are followed. Supports the factory goals and continuously improves the QSE efforts.
• Directly manages employees in the Shipping/Warehouse department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Responsible for budget for own department; works within approved budget and develops and implements cost saving measures.
• Ability to create 3 - 5 year strategies that define growth, motivation, and capability improvement.
• Create tasks and manage projects to support the strategic targets of the factory.
• Oversee work procedures and work schedules and expedite workflow; ensure all employees are complying with established policies and procedures.
• Review material delivery to production based on production plan.
• Review factory shipments based on shipping plan. adjust shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
• Assure shipping/warehouse is adhering to Safety and Quality standards.
• Ensure proper training for employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
• Communicate and ensure all shipping teams safely expedite the transport of hazardous materials and waste, from accumulation sites, to 90 day storage, within strict regulation requirements.
• Ensure that all shipping teams inspect, weigh, load, document, transport of hazardous materials and waste through shipping and receiving documents, bill of lading, and manifests.
• Comply with state and federal regulations for handling, storage, disposal, transport etc. of hazardous materials and waste.
• And all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors' degree (Business, Engineering or related field) is beneficial or 4 - 6 years related experience in Warehouse, Shipping/Transportation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 6 years progressive leadership experience.
• Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree a plus, or two - five years related experience in Warehouse, Shipping/Transportation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good knowledge of safe operations with loading and operating heavy equipment.
• Background in transportation is beneficial.
• Computer Skills:
o General Microsoft skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
o Knowledge of MRP, Time systems, Supply Chain Systems.
• Ability to lead/ coach the team.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to Work in Teams.
• Ability to create and maintain a safe work area.
Competencies:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and additional software programs)
• Ability to manage a team.
• See and hear alarms, timers and follow verbal instructions.
• Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the duration of the task.
• Ability to create and maintain a safe work area.
• Ability to interact frequently with others in a professional, courteous manner.
• Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms.
• Extensive experience working with Lean Manufacturing and continuous Improvement.
• Experience working with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, especially with supply chain activities in scope.
• Experience working with Microsoft packages and SAP or equivalent ERP.
• Lean Toolbox, including Black belt in Lean and demonstrated experience.
