Heavy Equitment Operator
Shift: 5:00PM-3:30AM
General Purpose:
The HEO I utilizes proficiency of skills, equipment knowledge, and primarily self-direction to perform work on assigned tasks with close supervision. The HEO I will meet all the requirements of a having been certified on the 2t - 7t sit down Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment. Posseses the ability to perform entry level tasks in logistics. This includes receiving, storage, and distribution of material, tools, equipment, and products based on internal customer needs per Vestas safety requirements as discovered or assigned, including proficient operation and use of heavy equipment.
Responsibilities:
To perform this job effectively, an individual will be required to perform each essential task satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required
· Operates heavy equipment and moves product or material in a safe and efficient way according to all policies and procedures
· Safely performs standard and non-standard lifts in all types of lighting and weather conditions
· Operates 10/12 ton and 33 ton forklifts
· Opeartes terminal tractor
· Preparing containers for unloading; cutting ratchet straps and removing dunnage
· Arrange securement brackets on rail car deck
· Reviews appropriate schedules to determine components and material to be moved, gathered, or loaded
· Performs 1st line maintenance requirements on assigned equipment
· Maintains inventory records through use of Vestas issued handheld device and computers
· Timely fill requistions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to assembly line
· Other tasks as assigned.
Essential Functions:
· Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 68 lbs. in weight
· Ability to frequently walk, stand, look up/down, balance, stoop, twist, kneel, and bend
· Ability to constantly grip and manually manipulate, often with repetitive motion, items such as, but not limited to, hand tools
· Ability to successfully participate in all training courses
· Ability to hear and see, including the ability to perceive depth and distinguish colors, sufficient to perform job functions and use close range radios
· Able to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions
· Comfortable working as part of a team with limited supervisory interaction
· Introductory level use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and other software programs
· Able to climb 20’ ladders regularly throughout shift in all weather conditions
Education, Training and Skills Required:
· High school, GED, or equivalent
· Essential behaviors – team work, cooperation, customer focus, active listener
· Comprehensive communication skills
· Organizational skills
· Quickly adjusts to change
· Certified on 2t – 7t sit down Powered Industrial Trucks preferred
· Certified on 10 ton, 12 ton, and 33 ton and terminal tractor preferred
· 1 year experience: material handling, forklift operation

Required to regularly lift up to 68 lbs using proper lifting techniques consistently throughout the shift. Required to exert (push/pull) up to 100 lbs of force occasionally throughout the shift. Required to climb ladders throughout shift.

Outdoors in all weather conditions (company provides all weather gear/uniforms needed), working on rail, trucks, other modes of transport. Work in close proximity to loud equipment/processes in an industrial storage yard.
Workplace Hazard Assessment
PPE for this position includes;
Safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, high visibility vests, steel toe boots, gloves, fall protection, cold weather gear, flashlights, hand held radios.
Salary Range: $22.00-33.00
