Blade Factory Brighton / Logistics / Factory Logistics
The Logistics Department is part of the Brighton Blades Factory Logistics team supporting the 24x7 operation of the Blades Factory by Shipping and transporting Turbine Blades and materials. This includes storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products within the factory.

 

Responsibilities

  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Daily operation of Class IV to Class VII equipment
  • Moves blades to and from production areas as needed and stage in yard for delivery
  • Load blades onto flatbed trailers and rail
  • Works outside in all elements and seasons
  • Assist with moving shipping containers
  • Use of MS Office applications and infrared scanning equipment
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas 
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code 
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
  • Marks materials with identifying information
  • Bales, crates, or place materials in containers
  • Records amounts of materials or items shipped or distributed 
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant or sent out to ensure conformance to company standards
  • Complies with OSHA safety regulations
  • Uses the 5S method to store and organize materials
  • Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers
  • Uses computer to enter records
  • Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications
  • Drives company vehicle for errands and to transport stored items from warehouse and outside locations
  • Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments 
  • Maintains inventory records
  • Empties large trash containers, cardboard bins
  • Clear and remove snow from walkway, receiving/shipping yard
  • Moves materials to and from production areas as needed to maintain stock levels for production
  • Inspect, weigh, load, document, transport of hazardous materials and waste through shipping and receiving documents, bill of lading, and manifests
  • Comply with state and federal regulations for handling, storage, disposal, transport etc. of hazardous materials and waste

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with loading and driving forklifts and/or heavy equipment
  • Basic skill with Microsoft programs
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Distance vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. This is a Night Shift position – 7pm to 7:30am
