Technical Sales RFP Sr. Manager- Offshore

General Purpose:

Sales Offshore, AME is responsible for all commercial activities including market development, early customer engagement, bidding, negotiation, and handover following the completed closure of a contract. The wider team consists of a diverse group of enthusiastic professionals covering the North American market, alongside a team that provides global bid management and sales support to the appropriate business regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support customers jointly with the Senior Sales Director throughout the sales process.
  • Direct the technical elements of the bidding and negotiation process to ensure an attractive yet balanced offer. Direct the negotiation of key contractual aspects of construction, technical, HSE and QA topics in the Turbine Supply Agreement together with the relevant subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Construction, Service Sales, HSE and Quality to bring commercial insight, flag and coordinate cross-functional risks, and identify issues that require further management escalation.
  • Review and provide consistently high-quality inputs to cost and contingency estimates for construction, technical, HSE and QA offerings.
  • Set and exceed high standards for the planning, execution and progress reporting of all tracks in the negotiation of the Turbine Supply Agreement.
  • Understand and communicate internally customer requirements for construction, technical, HSE and QA topics. Provide internal risk assessments and approaches for mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, mandates and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, coupled with at least 5 years of project management experience, ideally in renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or the construction industry.
  • Solid level of technical expertise coupled with commercial insight.
  • Project Management experience with regards to the request for proposal (RFP) process specifically
  • Experience with Stakeholder Management
  • Comfortable with a Customer Facing role
  • Understanding of the technical complexities of wind projects as well as typical contractual mechanisms.
  • Experience in technical negotiations of large, complex projects.
  • Experience with Yellow FIDIC Book.

  • Display a high degree of endurance, patience, and persistence for long-cycle bidding and customer negotiations.
