he Head of Operations will partner with key leadership teams to develop and implement global strategies, functions and systems to facilitate the achievement of the company's strategic directions and initiatives. The Head of Operations actively participates on the Service Leadership team and plays a leadership role in the global community, with responsibilities for Service MED region. The Head of Operations will think globally and act locally across all service areas and oversee / supervise Engineering, SCADA, Transactional Services, Serious Incidents, Warranty, Training, and Operations Capacity Planning.

 

 Responsibilities

 

•   Develop the vision, direction and goals for Service Operations aligning with Global Service and local regional strategy

•   Develop and mentor leaders across region, ensure leaders are continuing to elevate and think beyond their area of responsibility. Ensure they are positively contributing to the culture as well as the business goals

•   Ensure safety and quality foundations are key building blocks to all initiatives and projects within teams and service

•   Participate in planning the strategic direction of the business and in developing long-range plans to achieve goals, including providing recommendations on changes to accomplish goals while promoting and supporting organizational beliefs and values.

•   Influence and partner with functional leaders to align organizational structure, design, processes and staffing to maximize organizational effectiveness and efficiencies

•   Be a role model for functional leaders, incorporate full business view and ownership across all teams, ensure needs are heard and promote alignment between teams and business lines.

•   Understand and promote customer service, both internal and external. Regularly interact with customer executives to manage expectations while increasing customer service.

•   Develop, align and implement programs and initiatives to promote effective business unit strategies through best practices activities and solutions for the company in North America.

•   Simplify and standardize internal processes, utilize innovation and automation to drive scalability and efficiencies

•   Develop business metrics to guide strategic decision making for policies and processes

•   Collaborate and coordinate with global leadership in Denmark, associated entities and other Business Units for all issues related to their department. Ensure communication is clear and concise while aligned to local and global strategies.

•   Establish external relationships with the local communities where Vestas conducts business in MED

•   Facilitate collaboration across the organization to identify needs and develop scalable solutions.

•   Prioritize objectives and implement strategies to achieve company initiatives as part of the leadership team

•   Effectively communicate across all levels of the organization

 

Qualifications

 

•   Bachelors' degree in Engineering.

•   10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a global organization

•   Ability to develop, plan, and implement strategic short- and long-range goals.

•   Effective team leadership skills with ability to facilitate a cooperative work environment, motivate, coach, and coordinate employee development and performance.

•   Business and financial acumen, including experience managing a P&L

•   Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of business units in a global organization. 

•   Ability to excel in a growing and demanding work environment, prioritize among competing urgent matters and allocate resources for maximum impact 

•   Cross-functional management skills in a global and matrix organization

•   Ability to engage and influence multiple stakeholders including senior executives from various functions

•   Ability to handle multiple short and long-term priorities

•   Proven proficiency in analysis and problem solving
