The System Security Engineer will ensure the high availability, performance, and reliability of our Scipher platform's infrastructure, supporting seamless operations and customer experiences. The right candidate will bring expertise in incident management, strong problem-solving abilities, and collaboration with development teams to ensure uninterrupted access to our Scipher products and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
We are seeking an experienced System Security Engineer to deliver insights from massive-scale data in real time. The ideal candidate will have fresh ideas, a unique viewpoint, and enjoy collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop real-world solutions and positive user experiences. This position reports to the Operations Manager and is based in our Bengaluru, India office.
Responsibilities
- Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of cloud systems, networks and information
- Identify and define system security requirements
- Design computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs
- Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
- Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
- Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
- Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement
Qualfiications
- 4+ years' experience of working as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer
- Experience in building and maintaining security systems
- Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
- Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.
- Experience with security incident response processes and tools
- Knowledge of Agile Development processes
- Familiarity with secure coding practices and application security principles
- Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
- Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
- Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Competencies
- Certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CEH or CISM desired
- Certified in AWS and/or Azure
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to interact with customers and handle technical queries
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems as they arise
