The Service Department, responsible for the smooth operation of its customers' wind farms, is looking for a Team Leader who will be responsible for optimizing the performance of machines throughout their life cycle, ensuring that wind turbines run at their maximum capacity and provide the best energy efficiency for our clients. The Service department has a very important role in order to develop customer loyalty in the long term.

Responsibilities

You are the backup of the Supervisor in field operations, related maintenance tasks and customer communication when needed.

  • Follow up on maintenance tasks
  • Plan and execute daily work demands based on site work rosters and schedules
  • Participate/lead toolbox and daily work team briefings
  • Supervision of technicians in day-to-day activities, to ensure compliance with standards for scheduled/unscheduled activities
  • Advanced-level operational wind turbine maintenance and/or installation tasks as discovered or as assigned. This includes proficient operation and use of specialized tools and diagnostic processes (e.g., TK4, VAX, GLD, data logger, Vestas Turbine Monitor, borescope, etc.)
  • Documentation of turbine issues as required and entering data in the company system, such as observation in SF, SAP, etc.
  • Operates and adjusts turbine control and mechanical systems to safely conduct service and/or installation tasks
  • Ensure that quality, costs, and service delivery goals are met, based on the Service's needs and goals
  • Ensure compliance with Vestas' standards, safety rules, procedures, and processes (work permits, forms, security alerts, etc.)
  • High-quality daily reporting and service documentation in Salesforce and other Vestas systems, such as iAuditor, in accordance with agreed reporting standards
  • Provide training/coaching to technicians and operators in technical areas, operational procedures, and safety practices
  • Support supervisor for continuous evaluation and competence development of the staff. Might communicate with customers regarding completed and upcoming service and repairs (check-in/out reasons)
  • Engages with customers and responds to their inquiries as needed. Will refer complex customer inquiries to higher-level technical staff or the manager. Demonstrates professional customer focus at all times
  • Effectively promotes a healthy team environment through assisting teammates in accomplishing goals as well as mentoring lower-level technical staff
  • Visibly supports and promotes team spirit and collaboration, supports change initiatives, and looks for improvement opportunities to job-appropriate processes and procedures while communicating through appropriate channels to implement improvements using the appropriate control management protocol
  • Effectively gathers information regarding turbine performance/issues. May diagnose, recommend, and implement solutions up to intermediate routine issues. Seeks assistance when encountering turbine issues outside the trained skill level to ensure a suitable resolution
  • Acts as a safety role model, encourages, and recognizes others completing safe acts and intervenes when unsafe acts are being practiced. Adheres to all safety standards and procedures. Identifies gaps in safety standards as well as safety risks in the environment, implements effective risk mitigation, and provides recommendations to higher-level technical staff and management

 

Qualifications

  • Other tasks as agreed with the Site Supervisor and the Site Manager
  • Bachelor's Degree required, particularly in Engineering
  • Specialists in either SCADA or High Voltage
  • Ability to complete detailed component inspections and report on findings
  • Ability to demonstrate intermediate working knowledge of industrial safety practices/protocols (e.g., Confined Space, energy isolation)
  • Able to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Possessing a license to work on high voltage/operate cranes and/or forklifts would be beneficial
  • Possess a valid driving license in the Philippines

  • Substantial experience or a degree within the electrical field, mechanics, or hydraulics in accordance with local requirements and standards (local certifications)
  • Recommended to have knowledge of and teaching experience with diagnostic techniques, good problem-solving skills, and field training capabilities

  • Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and delivering the right solutions
  • Ability to maintain an attitude that promotes a positive image to internal and external customers
  • Maintain a professional attitude even when problems and crisis situations arise
  • Demonstrated advanced use of complex power tools such as hydraulic rams, inductive heaters, and diagnostic tools (e.g., advanced Fluke meter functions, VOB data collection)
