General Purpose:

The Project Field Support Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, and overall benefit of the Project Support team. The team must continually meet key needs and performance in the areas of inventory management, project support, cost recovery, site readiness, project closing activities and document control for construction projects. The manager is responsible for maintaining an effective team that is focused on continuous improvement and achieving high level results.

 

Responsibilities:

Resource Manager:

  • Manage remote Field Support Coordinators providing direction, ongoing coaching and performance feedback, development, and proper allocation of resources
  • Recruit, hire, onboard and provide training for employees and contractors focused on documentation, inventory management and procurement for construction projects
  • Support enhanced business performance, quality and efficiency through improved motivation, loyalty and employee satisfaction
  • Coordinate priorities and deliverables between groups. Regularly communicate with Supply Chain, Transport, and Global Tools NCSA
  • Ensure Field Support Coordinators follow defined business processes and utilize SAP transactions correctly
  • Implement new processes and best practices as necessary and required for the team
  • Sustain and further develop peer to peer mentoring network to successfully train new team members and improve project controls
  • Assign and deploy Field Support Coordinators to construction projects, service sites and special projects, matching seasonal supply and demand
  • Strategically ensure scalable department to meet construction project support requirements
  • Create Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and ensure that targets are met
  • Forecast headcount and establish annual budget for the Field Support Coordinators

 

Business Performance Manager:

  • Support enhanced business performance, quality and efficiency through improved motivation, loyalty and employee satisfaction
  • Lead project team to review and revise the Project Execution Manual (PEM)
  • Maintain ISO compliance for documentation
  • Develop business case to support required project management software and systems
  • Facilitate meetings to assess commercial (settlements/negotiations?)
  • Align with internal stakeholders to assess and mitigate construction project risks
  • Identify process improvements
  • Manage cost recovery
  • Support Vestas safety policies
  • Quality initiatives for construction
  • Develop training materials and curriculum for construction team
  • Support business performance initiatives
  • Develop and facilitate annual construction meeting
  • Assist recruit and interview Project Managers and Construction Managers
  • Develop and maintain cross-functional teams to support process improvement and change management

 

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Education, Training, and Skills Required:

  • Prefer bachelor’s degree (BS) in business, communications or equivalent
  • 5 years’ experience in management and leadership position
  • Experience with maintaining remote employees primarily at construction sites
  • Good understanding of SAP, its modules and functionalities
  • Good knowledge of financial guidelines and principles
  • Understanding of reporting tools
  • Basic Wind Turbine site construction knowledge
  • Cross cultural insight and understanding
  • Ability to align expectations of the function with business strategy
  • Ability to select and retain Field Support Coordinators and build a good team
  • Demonstrated benefit to coach and develop people
  • Ability to create and build change
  • Improve policies and procedures to advance business performance
  • Extensive written and oral communication skills required, along with ability to communicate effectively with various employees across the organization
  • Use independent judgement and decision-making to plan and organize responsibilities and develop strategies within areas of responsibility
  • Ability to travel 40% of time to construction project sites across the US and Canada

The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
