The Field Service Manager (FSM) is responsible for business development and delivering on the FSM's financial KPIs. The FSM works closely with the customers and internal stakeholders to identify, coordinate and develop proposals and win as much business as possible. As part of the proposal development, the FSM will review the technical specifications and RFQ documents, develop a project plan with associated pricing, then follow up with the customer to ensure the proposal is delivered and meets the customers' needs. Once a project is won, the FSM will ensure the project is transitioned to the execution team, ensuring safe and profitable execution.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop a business plan for assigned region to meet regional KPIs for revenue, margin, and safety

  • Develop and identify leads for turbine repair projects within assigned region

  • Develop and deliver to the proposals for leads in assigned region that meet the business needs and will lead to meeting or exceeding regional KPIs

  • Negotiate contracts with customers enabling continued stream of opportunities to repair business

  • As part of proposal development, create a project plan including personnel requirements, subcontractor needs, materials demand, tooling and any other components required to meet the customers' needs and capture any additional business available.

  • Once awarded, transition the project plan to the project management team to ensure all scope requirements are safely met

  • Negotiate proposal terms with customers to ensure the most favorable terms for Vestas and our customers'

  • Mitigate risks (safety, financial, and operational) associated with the project as much as practical

  • Initiate and negotiate any contracts Vestas needs to ensure we have the necessary contractual relationships in place with our customers and vendors to maximize the amount of opportunities available

  • Communicate status of the assigned region's repair business to internal stakeholders

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure the necessary resources are available to win and complete repair work

  • Identify and complete process improvement projects within the internal team to maximize performance

 

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Valid driver's license, passport and ability to travel as needed to meet business goals

  • Experience and knowledge of wind turbines and power plant operations is. Will consider similar industry or technology such as hydraulic, rotating heavy equipment service and maintenance

  • Experience managing safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical, Fall Arrest & High Angle Emergency Decent, and Confined Space

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Physical Requirements

Ability to complete a 200 - 400 foot pre-employment climb test, pre-employment physical and drug screen, criminal background check, and driving record check.
