The Field Support Lead (FS Lead) is a key member of the FSC/TC organization, providing leadership and operational oversight during the construction phase of wind power projects and throughout the process of connecting the facility to the electrical grid. The FS Lead serves as the primary leader and mentor for on-site Field Support Coordinators (FSCs) and Tool Coordinators (TCs), ensuring the team operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with established standards. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to company processes and procedures related to safety, inventory management, documentation, and overall operational excellence. The FS Lead acts as a subject matter expert resource for field teams, promoting consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement across all support activities. In addition to operational responsibilities, the FS Lead has a strong focus on people leadership. This includes coaching, developing, coordinating, and supporting FSC and TC team members to strengthen their technical capabilities, enhance performance, and foster professional growth. Through effective leadership and collaboration, the FS Lead helps ensure project success while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and process compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Lead, coordinate, and develop the Field Support team, including approximately 3-5 Vestas employees and 3-5 third-party contractors.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment by providing direction, technical guidance, workload prioritization, and resource allocation.
• Align efforts across several projects and sites to promote efficient operations and effective project delivery.
• Champion Vestas safety policies and environmental stewardship initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment through proactive hazard identification, risk mitigation, and adherence to established safety procedures.
• Participate in and lead daily safety meetings, either on-site or virtually.
• Complete required monthly safety training and serve as a visible role model for safe work practices.
• Train, develop, mentor, and support Field Support Coordinators (FSCs) and Tool Coordinators (TCs).
• Identify skill gaps and provide targeted coaching to improve individual and team performance.
• Train third-party contractors on FSC and TC processes, procedures, and expectations.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development throughout the organization.
• Ensure compliance with established processes, work instructions, and operational procedures.
• Verify that Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) are accurately created, documented, and maintained within SAP.
• Promote accuracy, precision, and consistency throughout all field support activities.
• Support ongoing improvement efforts by spotting opportunities to enhance processes and sharing recommendations through the proper channels.
• Partner closely with Field Support Managers to address personnel, scheduling, and business-related needs in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Provide regular project status updates and maintain effective communication with leadership.
• Take part in project closeout audits and reviews to help confirm project completion and accurate documentation.
• Utilize established work instructions and seek guidance from leadership when issues are outside your authority or responsibilities.
• Support other sites and teams in resolving issues that impact broader organizational objectives.

• Respond promptly to inquiries and requests while maintaining a positive, results-oriented approach.
• Be available for short notice travel to provide training, operational support, or interim coverage during unexpected personnel transitions.
• Perform other responsibilities and special assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience working as Vestas wind site business support; significant experience in project management and training others is required.
• Experienced in working with SAP enterprise resource program software in roles such as dispatch/planner, stock keeper, technician, front desk function, and advanced forecasting and planning.
• Demonstrated ability and experience in planning, logistics, scheduling, and inventory control.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills; focused and effective listener; ability to effectively influence others to adhere to standard processes and procedures. Ability to raise awareness of issues amongst key stakeholders.
• Advanced PC skills in MS Office (Word, Excel) and SAP.
• Ability to work in both a team-based environment and with limited supervision. The candidate should be capable of working remotely without the need for supervision.
• Ability to identify problems and solve them through root cause analysis; significant investigative skills and professional attention to detail.
• Solid time management and demonstrated organizational skills to ensure both individual and assigned department goals are met. LEAN experience is a preference.
• Approximately 60% travel required valid driver's license required. Passport for international travel is a preference
