The department Turbine Engineering is a part of the Vestas Service organisation. We are currently expanding the organisation with highly qualified employees.


The department is responsible for delivering service solutions on All Brands enabling the service business within Vestas to fulfill its ambitious, strategic targets. The service solutions vary from parts & repair over maintenance concepts to product improvements like component life extensions, optimisations of performance and cost-out initiatives. The department holds the design responsibility for service/aftersales solutions on the products no longer being manufactured. 


We are responsible for delivering innovative solutions to ensure highest possible value to Vestas customers in the service business.
The team is in different geographical locations and is expanding to meet the demand of a growing business.

 

Responsibilities
As a team leader of the Nacelle & Tools team, you will spend 30 to 50% of your time on people leadership tasks while the rest time will be spent as personal contributor (Subject matter expert) on this technological area.
As people leader we expect you to:

  • Good focus on the people leadership by contacting regular 1 to 1 dialogue with the direct reports
  • Support and Facilitate the people review and the CPD process
  • Ensure that development activities for the whole team and for the people are in a place to ensure a motivated team
  • Ensure that we have optimum resource allocation in the different activities and projects we are involved to
  • Supervise any activities needed to close resource and competency gaps identified in the different projects

 

As an individual contributor the responsibilities of this role are the following:

  • Technical evaluation of new improvement cases/after sales options
  • Key role in setting the business standards for repair solutions using new or innovative technologies
  • Technical ownership of enthusiastic improvement cases related to this technical area
  • Technical lead on development of solutions and after sales options/methods and processes
  • Collaboration with 3rd part companies/sub suppliers developing technical solutions
  • Provide input and contact technical review to future products/solutions

 

Qualifications

  • You hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical engineer or similar
  • 3 year + experience within the wind power business with mechanical systems as main working area, will be a requirement
  • Experience on respected teams and projects will be highly valued
  • Proficient in English both written and verbal
  • If you come with service operation knowledge and a good understanding of the commercial value set of the service business where balancing of product quality, lifetime and customer needs are always vital, it will highly value
  • Experience on coordinating and handling sub-contractors and sub suppliers
  • Experience from larger organisations will be desirable

  • Ability to take design responsibility and secure the right level of engineering to support the decisions
  • Flexibility and ability to work with other people in a large organisation and capability of building up an intensive network across cultures and time sones within and outside Vestas
  • Ability to work well in a time-sensitive setting and make the right decisions based on facts

Additional information
Your work location will for instance be in Aarhus N, DK. Rest of Europe can also be considered. Some travel activities are accepted and will be around 20% of your time.
