As a Tower Commodity Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping Vestas’ global tower supply chain. Your work will help ensure the delivery of reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions to our customers worldwide.

Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is the integrated CTO and COO organization within Vestas, encompassing the full industrial value chain — from Research & Development, Procurement and Manufacturing to Supply Chain and Quality. VTO’s mission is to transform the way Vestas engineers, sources, contracts, manufactures and delivers its products to consistently meet the highest standards for quality, cost efficiency and time-to-market.


Vestas Global Procurement is responsible for managing all procurement activities across the organization. The team leads cross-functional category initiatives, engages in negotiations and contract management, and develops end-to-end cost optimization strategies. Additionally, it focuses on creating robust category strategies and maintaining effective supplier relationships to support Vestas’ global operations.


You will be part of the Towers & Steel department, a globally distributed team with members across all continents. The department holds commercial responsibility for Vestas’ global network of external tower manufacturing plants and oversees the procurement of all related raw materials.

 


Responsibilities

 


In this high-impact role, you will gain broad strategic exposure across Vestas and play a key role in strengthening the tower procurement function. The position involves managing multiple critical projects in a fast-paced environment while driving collaboration and results.
Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Strategic and Cross-Functional Projects (lead cross-functional initiatives such as Cost-Out, Modularization, and Digitalization within tower procurement, act as the main liaison for tower procurement, ensuring alignment and timely delivery of project goals, drive improvement projects across the tower value chain, including footprint optimization and supplier engagement, collaborate closely with Technology, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance, representing Procurement in key forums)
  • Risk Management and Business Opportunities (partner with commodity teams to identify risks and secure effective mitigation plans, explore and implement new business opportunities to support growth and operational excellence, analyze supply chain setups and demand trends to guide strategic decision-making)
  • Team Development and Knowledge Sharing (support onboarding and promote knowledge sharing to enhance team performance, strengthen collaboration across global and regional teams to ensure consistency and strategic alignment, build and utilize market intelligence to inform decisions and capture opportunities in the tower market)
  • Process Compliance and Financial Oversight (ensure adherence to corporate procurement standards within Towers & Steel, support the Tower leadership team with accurate financial) reporting and transparency.

 

 

Qualifications

 


As a Tower Commodity Specialist, you are expected to lead by example and continuously challenge existing ways of working. The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Supply Chain Management, ideally within a global and matrixed organization
  • A strong record of leading cross-functional projects and implementing process improvements within procurement functions
  • Solid understanding of procurement financials, metrics, and performance management
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and risk management in procurement
  • Proficiency in tools such as SAP, Ariba, Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal; proficiency in Danish is an advantage

The primary work location for this position is Aarhus, Denmark.
Up to 30 days of travel per year.
