Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, Blade Bearing, as part of Hub Module.
The Hub Module is a part of Aerodynamics & Mechanical and has sites in both Denmark and India.
Blade Bearing operates as a crucial Sub-Module within the Hub Module, tasked with the end-to-end design of blade bearings for new turbines. From initial drafting to serial production rollout, our responsibilities encompass design estimation, supplier collaboration, bearing inspection and testing, ensuring structural integrity, and meeting cost-quality standards. Moreover, we are actively involved in turbine upgrades, servicing, and conducting failure mode analyses. Our diverse workforce excels due to continuous motivation, interacting consistently with stakeholders throughout the value chain. Responsibilities

  • Guide the team’s technical direction and development
  • Conduct feasibility studies and scope new bearing design projects
  • Advise design engineers and ensure project deliveries meet cost and quality standards
  • Facilitate risk analysis and oversee functions and requirements
  • Create a technical strategy and projects that enhance functional performance
  • Lead testing strategies internally and with suppliers
  • Collaborate with account managers to develop Blade Bearing suppliers strategically


Qualifications
We are seeking an ideal candidate with the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering within disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
  • Good understanding of machine components
  • Background in System Engineering and DFMEA
  • Experience in supplier development

Following are good to have:

  • Knowledge and experience using ANSYS and CAD 
  • Proficiency in programming in MATLAB or Python
  • Background in tribology and a PhD
