Join our team at Vestas HQ in Aarhus, Denmark, as a Student Worker in the Product Function Noise & Environmental Effects department.
Your main focus will be on technical challenges within the Electromagnet Environmental Effects area (E3) with specific focus on product design of Lightning protection and EMC, and you would be involved in our day-to-day project execution and contribute to our transition into a simulation-based prediction approach.

Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, Product Functions Noise & Environmental Effects, as part of Product Solutions & Integration.
The Product Solutions & Integration is responsible for designing the product architecture and product roadmap in response to market roadmap requirements, translate product architecture and roadmap into module requirements, and full value chain integration. Our team is part of Product Solutions & Integration and works on behalf of the product owner with the responsibility of developing and maintaining relevant strategies, requirements, technologies, and concepts of our wind turbines within established areas.
Our team is responsible for design guidelines, strategies and requirements within the following areas EMC, lightning, Internal power quality (IPQ), Radio Equipment (RED), LV protection, Earthing and grounding. In essence, we ensure robust and compliant design of our products. We are involved in new turbine development as well as maintenance and optimization of our existing products. 

Responsibilities

  • Address technical challenges in the Electromagnet Environmental Effects (E3) domain, with a specific focus on Lightning Protection and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) in product design
  • Participate actively in daily project execution
  • Contribute to the transition towards a simulation-based prediction approach


Qualifications
To qualify for the position, you are:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program, within electrical engineering, and at least one year of academic study remaining
  • Interest in learning about Electromagnet Environmental Effects (E3) and its application at Vestas
  • Proficiency and enthusiasm in electrical simulation
  • Experience or knowledge in Python or MATLAB
  • Experience with COMSOL or CST is beneficial
  • Ability to apply academic knowledge to real-life scenarios
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal

Additional information
Your work location will be at our office located in Aarhus, Denmark.
You will be expected to work 15-25 hours per week.
