Student Software Developer - Digital Simulation
Aarhus N, Region Central Jutland, DK
Are you a curious and engaged student looking to apply your knowledge in a real-world setting? Join a global partner in sustainable energy solutions and contribute to the future of wind energy simulation.
Digital Solutions & Development > Digital Solutions > Modelling
Vestas Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) develops, tests, and advances the digital backbone of Vestas to support the future of sustainable energy. Within DTS, Simulation Development is a fast-growing department of motivated engineers working to advance how we simulate across wind turbine platforms and modules.
Join our Modelling team as a Student Software Developer, and you’ll contribute to modular product development across our R&D engineering teams in Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO). Using your software development skills, you'll help engineers from various backgrounds by creating tools and solutions that allow them to focus on their core work.

Digitalization is at the heart of everything we do at Vestas. Our goal is to make it simple and accessible through golden paths/paved roads – ready-to-use solutions that help engineers without a software background focus on designing world-class wind turbines.
In this role, you'll support that vision by:
Making best practices more accessible, such as:
- Templates for deploying applications to Kubernetes
- Dash-based website templates
- Integrating Entra ID into applications
- Automating pull-request checks and merges
Contributing to prototype work, such as:
- Navigating system architecture models (e.g., SysMLv2) to extract relevant data
- Creating private package repositories for Modelica models
- Applying new approaches from recent research papers to real-world use cases
This role is diverse and hands-on. You’ll work with different languages, tools, and technologies – a great fit for student developers who enjoy solving real problems and exploring new ideas.
