WTG Engineering NCE department is responsible to support regional Service and partly Construction organizations with technical knowledge to ensure Vestas WTGs are properly installed, operated, and maintained onshore and offshore. The department consists of four teams: Mechanical-, Electrical-, Blades- and Civil Engineering teams.

The Offshore Mechanical Engineering team is a sub department of Mechanical Engineering NCE consisting of 4 highly experienced and skilled employees located in Aarhus/ Denmark. Further growth is expected short term.

Reporting to the manager for Offshore Mechanical Engineering NCE, you will be part of a team that supports the realization of Vestas' strategy, emphasizing customer care and safety at all times.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide specialized support on bolted connections, fasteners, and structural components
  • Initiate root cause analysis and provide short or long-term solutions
  • Review inspection reports and recommend corrective actions
  • Analyze turbine data to track and assess failure trends 
  • Handle technical queries and represent engineering in client meetings
  • Detect design flaws and coordinate improvement initiatives

 

Qualifications

 

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, Marine Engineering or equivalent combined with work experience in structural design
  • Extensive knowledge in design and applications of bolted connections, various bolt tensioning processes, ITH smart tools, as well as steel structural components. Knowledge of vibration is welcomed
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with design standards as well as wind industry standards
  • Background in the wind energy sector is preferred but not mandatory

Additional information


Your primary work location will be Aarhus, Denmark.
You should expect some travel activity, approximately 3-4 weeks per year within NCE region.
