Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, Tower Technical Management, as part of Aerodynamic & Mechanical.
Our department is developing and maintaining the complete Vestas tower program. The tasks range from business case evaluations to structural engineering including FEM, requirement management, design risk assessment, test planning and project execution and creation of certification documentation.
Our department is accountable for final approval of module requirement, technical quality, risks, and solutions across the value chain and across the tower sub-modules. The team liaises with the product function on module requirement analysis, needed performance steps and coordinate feasibility studies.
Focus is on securing cross functional alignment across tower sub-modules and across the full value chain from procurement, manufacturing to transport, installation, and service.
Our team is spread in three different locations: Aarhus, Denmark, Porto, Portugal and Chennai, India. You will sit amongst very motivated people from many areas of the world that is always willing to support.
Responsibilities
As a Specialist - foundation interface your primary responsibilities will be to mature and develop the interface of the tower towards the foundation. In greater detail your area of responsibilities will be to:
- Define design requirements and participate in requirement analysis and feasibility studies for the foundation and tower-foundation interface
- Drive the development and improvement of the interface for both onshore and offshore towers
- Coordinate modularization and standardization of the tower foundation interface
- Define and guide strategic initiatives within the functional area
- Work with a network of suppliers, procurement, sales, transport, and construction
- Liaise with both internal stakeholders and external partners
Qualifications
Your qualifications include:
- Structural or Civil Engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters)
- 10+ years of experience within design and lead positions within civil works such as steel works, onshore or offshore foundations
- Wind turbine experience or similar experience from utilities, developers, construction, or engineering companies
- Design knowledge of civil works, structures, and relevant standards
- Experience in interface management
