Power Solutions >Applications, Controls & Electrical >Power System Integration Module 

We intend to build a new team of SW engineers to build and maintain SW tools and processes. The team will be part of the Power System Integration (PSI) module within the R&D organization.  

 

The energy transition from fossil fueled power plants to renewables poses significant and increasing tasks to the electrical power system in several countries. The PSI module is end-to-end accountable to solve these tasks and achieve grid connection for our clients. We do the electrical design between the power grid and the individual turbines, which includes modelling, control, and integration of Wind turbines with various third-party components.  

 

Your team will have SW engineers in Denmark and Portugal. You will contribute to the above-mentioned opportunity by developing and maintaining the SW Ecosystem, which is used by electrical engineers across R&D and operations in several functions, organizations, and countries. Main purpose is to increase quality, level of automation / digitalization and efficiency of these functions. 

 

Responsibilities 

You will report to the VP of PSI and be responsible for both people - and functional leadership of the full lifecycle of our Software tools. More specifically, your responsibilities will cover:  

  • Increase quality, consistency, and digitalization in the PSI module and its value chain by smart SW tools.  
  • People management (one-one dialogues, development plans, target settings, etc.) 
  • Recruit world class candidates and ensure the right usage of engineering-contractors in the area 
  • Understand and fulfill the needs of internal users and stakeholders  
  • Implement agile methods and optimize own SW development processes  
  • Build the right strategy to collaborate globally and synergize with other software areas and the IT department at Vestas 
  • Prioritize between long term R&D project activities, medium term development activities and short-term operational support  
  • Advocate internally on best practices with respect to software development to ensure quality 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor or Master degree within software development or computer science or related with 10+ years professional experience  
  • 5+ years leadership experience managing software teams
  • Agile / SCRUM expereince is good to have 
  • Good cultural understanding and international working experience  
  • You have the desire and the ability to understand and maintain overview of a wide range of advanced technical domains using your services  
  • Good communication skills in English
