Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is the integrated CTO and COO organization within Vestas, encompassing the full industrial value chain — from Research & Development, Procurement and Manufacturing to Supply Chain and Quality. VTO’s mission is to transform the way Vestas engineers, sources, contracts, manufactures and delivers its products to consistently meet the highest standards for quality, cost efficiency and time-to-market.

The module consists of of approximately 100 colleagues located in Aarhus, Denmark, and Porto, Portugal, working closely together across locations. The teams collaborate in a distributed setup, focusing on continuous improvement, innovation, and high-quality software delivery throughout the entire development lifecycle.

Within this module, you will join the Firebank team, responsible for maintaining, operating, and developing a business‑critical central service that collects and stores signals from customer wind turbines and parks. Firebank is a mission‑critical platform, and the team works with strong ownership of reliability, scalability, and long‑term product evolution in close collaboration with key stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve a business‑critical central data platform used across a global fleet of wind turbines
  • Take end‑to‑end ownership of software development, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment
  • Ensure high availability, stability, and performance of a 24/7 running production system
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into robust, scalable software solutions
  • Operate and support the platform, including troubleshooting, bug fixing, and performance optimization
  • Apply modern software engineering practices, including CI/CD, agile development, and product‑centric thinking
  • Collaborate within a small, distributed team while being able to work independently and drive tasks with a strong sense of ownership

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong experience in backend development using C# and .NET Core, combined with frontend development using Angular
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, system integration, and designing scalable, maintainable, and robust solutions
  • Hands‑on experience with modern development workflows, including version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code quality tools such as SonarQube
  • Experience working with production systems, including monitoring, observability, and operational tools to ensure stability and performance
  • Familiarity with agile development practices, iterative delivery, and product‑oriented software development

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work seamlessly within cross‑functional and multicultural teams
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Skilled at managing multiple tasks concurrently while ensuring timely and high‑quality deliverables
  • Genuine passion for renewable energy and a strong commitment to advancing sustainable solutions
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities, evolving technologies, and fast‑paced work environments
