Come and join the newly established Blades Industrialization & Portfolio department within Vestas.
This organization is responsible for managing the Blades Manufacturing project portfolio from the earliest project phases through final project closure. We work in close collaboration with stakeholders across the entire value chain, including R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and other key functions, to ensure effective project execution and value creation.
The purpose of the department is to ensure that projects are delivered to Blades Manufacturing on time, within budget, and with the required quality standards. In parallel, the organization also improves Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) initiatives to optimize product and process design, enabling safe, scalable, and cost-efficient manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the implementation of projects in accordance with the Vestas Way to Market framework. Represents Manufacturing in the cross-functional product team, collaborating closely with R&D, SCM, CPX, Quality, and other key stakeholders to ensure on-time, within-budget project delivery and industrialization
- Concepts lead, including representing Manufacturing in discussions of new products, new architectures, new technologies with R&D before Project (Gate 0) is officially launched and ensure DfA / DfM concepts.
- Responsible for target cost, quality, safety and delivery setting
- Ensure end-to-end product lifecycle ownership from launch to decommissioning, with full accountability for cost, quality, safety, delivery, and target cost setting.
- Contribute to strategic cross-functional working groups with Blades R&D, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Quality.
Qualifications
- An Engineering degree
- Solid industrial experience from manufacturing or R&D, with launch of new products
- We prefer Project/Portfolio Management certification – PRINCE2 Foundation (Mandatory), IPMA, PMP, MSP
- We prefer Risk Management certification - M_o_R
Competencies
- Gate and project execution: Ability to frame, scope, budget, and execute industrialization projects ensuring delivery against agreed objectives, timelines, and business outcomes.
- DfM/DfA influence: Ability to shape product concepts and designs in collaboration with R&D to secure manufacturability, assembly efficiency, quality, cost competitiveness, and industrialization readiness. Acts as the manufacturing lead in the concept phase (pre-Gate 0), ensuring Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) principles are embedded from the earliest stages of development
- Product Launch readiness: Ability to secure process readiness, training and stable ramp-up at factories.
- SQCDP trade-off management: Ability to manage cost, quality, safety and delivery trade-offs based on data.
- Cross-functional leadership: Ability to lead manufacturing topics in product teams with clear decisions and follow-up.
- Should-cost modelling: Ability to develop should-cost models, enabling fact-based cost targets, design trade-offs, and decision-making and demonstrate ability to monitor and manage costs after launch.
