The Project Excellence department is responsible for advancing Vestas' project, programme, and portfolio management capabilities by establishing and maintaining robust governance frameworks, methodologies, standards, and reporting practices. These foundations enable consistent, transparent, and predictable delivery while supporting effective value realization across Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO).

Working in close partnership with business leaders, project and programme teams, and key stakeholders, the team provides governance, guidance, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen delivery performance, enhance organizational maturity, and ensure successful execution of Vestas' strategic priorities.

 

Responsibilities

As a Senior Specialist, Project Excellence, you will help strengthen project, programme, and portfolio management (P3M) capabilities across VTO, driving governance excellence, delivery performance, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of P3M frameworks, governance processes, standards, and methodologies
  • Develop and enhance P3M capabilities, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and business needs
  • Create and maintain portfolio reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and performance insights to support effective decision-making
  • Partner with project and programme leaders to promote delivery excellence and consistent application of best practices
  • Facilitate governance forums, maturity assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen organizational effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain tools, templates, guidance materials, and knowledge-sharing practices that support successful project execution
  • Support strategic transformation initiatives by embedding industry-leading P3M practices and driving capability development across the organization

 

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage
  • 5-8+ years of experience in PMO, Project Excellence, Portfolio Management, Business Transformation, or a similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of project, programme, and portfolio management (P3M) frameworks, methodologies, governance, and maturity models
  • Experience leading or supporting complex cross-functional initiatives within a global, matrix-based organizatio
  • Proven expertise in portfolio governance, performance management, strategic planning, and executive reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and business recommendations
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, complemented by experience with PPM tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Planview, Jira, Azure DevOps, Power BI) and relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, MoP, PgMP, or Agile
