We invite you to become a Senior Software Configuration Specialist, where you will oversee key software configurations vital to our advanced wind turbine operations. In this role, you will take on the responsibility of improving software consistency and quality, with a commitment to providing our customers with stellar solutions and assisting with Vestas strategic modularization and lifecycle management plans.

The position will be placed with the Turbine Control Software Technical Management team, which sets the guidelines and direction of how Turbine Software is developed at Vestas. Configuration is one of the key areas with the Technical management team, as it is an enabler to Vestas Modularisation journey and lifecycle management.

With the increase expected of Wind Turbine volumes, the quality of the SW and the efficiency with which we deliver rightly configured SW to our customers is of the utmost importance, so this is a critical leadership position with high exposure and opportunities to grow.

 

Responsibilities

You will report to the Module Design Owner of Turbine Control SW, having full life-cycle ownership of your function. More specifically, your responsibilities will cover:

  • Oversee software configurations and ensure consistency across development, testing, and production environments
  • Implement and optimize configuration management processes, ensuring alignment with company standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support software deployment, updates, and troubleshooting
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configuration processes and systems
  • Ensure compliance with configuration management policies and best practices
  • Perform audits and reviews of software configurations to ensure high levels of quality and consistency
  • Troubleshoot and resolve configuration-related issues promptly

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Software engineering or relevant education
  • More than 10 years of professional experience in working with Software Configuration Systems
  • Proven experience in software development and its methodologies like Agile or Scrum
  • Experience in programming languages such as C# or Python
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Global mindset and good cultural understanding
  • Skilled in technical leadership

Additional information

The primary work location is Aarhus, Denmark or Porto, Portugal.
