Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within VTO, you'll find our department, Project Execution, as part of Turbine Control Software Module.
Our department is responsible for delivering software development projects that enhance the efficiency and safety of Vestas turbines.
We are a team of skilled and experienced Project Managers and Project Technical Leads, collaborating across three key locations: India, Portugal, and Denmark.
As part of the Project Execution team, you will join us as a Senior Project Manager, handling major projects that contribute to a sustainable future. In this role, you will work closely with international, cross-functional teams, guiding and managing complex software development initiatives.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for
- Managing the full lifecycle of complex, large-scale, and critical projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining high-quality standards
- Developing, implementing, and overseeing projects in alignment with Vestas’ processes and governance frameworks
- Identifying potential risks, dependencies, and obstacles, implementing mitigation strategies, and developing contingency plans
- Building and maintaining solid relationships with key stakeholders to ensure clear communication of project progress, priorities, and targets
- Tracking project performance, analyzing results, and facilitating continuous improvements to enhance outcomes
- Contributing to the refinement of Module Operational Setup, frameworks, and tools, ensuring an efficient change management process
- Coaching and mentoring junior project managers to support their professional development and elevate the team’s capabilities
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should have
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing high-complexity software product development projects within a matrix organization, collaborating with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
- Advanced proficiency in English, with good verbal and written communication abilities
- Recognized accreditation such as PRINCE2, PMI, or an equivalent certification
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies and proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, and Confluence
- Practical experience in applying LEAN and Kaizen principles to streamline processes and facilitate continuous improvement is highly valued
