Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is the integrated CTO and COO organization within Vestas, encompassing the full industrial value chain — from Research & Development, Procurement and Manufacturing to Supply Chain and Quality. VTO’s mission is to transform the way Vestas engineers, sources, contracts, manufactures and delivers its products to consistently meet the highest standards for quality, cost efficiency and time-to-market.

Plant & Energy Solutions is the Vestas R&D department responsible for transforming Vestas turbines into fully configurable, intelligent renewable power plants.

The department drives the development of end‑to‑end power plant solutions, ensuring that Vestas continues to deliver industry‑leading high performing, reliable Power Plants to customers worldwide.

Core solution areas within Plant & Energy Solutions include:

  • Power & Grid Control
  • SCADA & Cybersecurity
  • Customer Performance Reporting
  • Plant Data Management

Through these capabilities, Plant & Energy Solutions plays a key role in enabling data‑driven operations, optimizing plant performance, and supporting Vestas’ long‑term service and digital ambitions.

 

Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Manager within Cyber Security, you will lead and drive end-to-end cybersecurity programs across Vestas’ product portfolio, ensuring secure solutions throughout the full lifecycle—from development to end-of-life.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a key Project Manager within the Cyber Security value stream, collaborating across the entire value chain including R&D, procurement, manufacturing, transportation, installation, and service to safeguard our products
  • Define and execute strategic cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring alignment with product roadmaps, business priorities, and evolving market demands
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders globally, securing alignment across business and technical functions and driving decision-making at scale
  • Ensure cybersecurity requirements are embedded into both software and OT (Operational Technology) products, supporting real-world deployment of Vestas solutions
  • Proactively manage cybersecurity risks, compliance, and regulatory requirements, integrating industry developments and legislation into program delivery
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement, strengthening cybersecurity capabilities and enabling delivery of resilient, future-ready energy solutions

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading digital product development, either within a project delivery environment or an agile product development framework
  • Relevant educational background within digitalization, software development, or a related technical field
  • Formal training or certification in project or program management
  • Demostrated experience managing complex programs or projects within software and/or cybersecurity domains, ideally in product-based environments
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity principles, with exposure to regulatory or compliance requirements considered an advantage

 

Competencies

  • Business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for technical development teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders, combined with excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex topics in a precise and impactful manner
  • Solid experience operating at a strategic level, with a track record of driving outcomes beyond team-level execution
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate teams, create a clear sense of purpose, and guide cross-functional teams towards shared goals
  • Good communication skills with full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)
