Global Legal Offshore & Service is an excellence center within the global Legal, Risk & Compliance department of Vestas, providing legal and contracting support to the high growth business areas of Offshore and Service. We work in three sub-teams: (1) global offshore transactional enablement, (2) vessels, aviation & ports for offshore projects, and (3) global service product offerings & special projects. 

We are looking for a Senior Legal Advisor for our global offshore transactional enablement team. The team provides Vestas' front-line regional offshore transactional legal advisors and other key stakeholders in the offshore wind turbine sales and service sales frontline regional teams with necessary tools (governance, guidelines, training, templates, "hotline" support etc.) to enable them to excel in their work and ensure a healthy contracting risk profile for Vestas.  Sometimes, the enablement team members may also be asked to step into the front-line regional offshore transactional legal advisor role for a specific project or challenge.

Responsibilities

  • Provide contracting risk advice and business-oriented solutions to front-line regional teams 
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve governance and policies for offshore wind turbine sales and service offerings to ensure a healthy risk profile for Vestas
  • Develop and implement effective and scalable training (field and desktop) to internal and external front-line offshore legal advisors as well as other relevant stakeholders
  • Support improvement and development of product offerings and solutions for the offshore market
  • Continuously ensure that contractual lessons learned from previous projects are incorporated into the enablement toolbox of governance, policies, templates, training, etc
  • Business partner with key stakeholders in the offshore end-to-end value chain to ensure customer-centricity and quality is embedded in our tools
  • Conduct peer reviews of front-line negotiated turbine supply agreements and service & maintenance agreements

 

Qualifications

  • Solid legal educational background with minimum Master's degree in law or equivalent
  • Professional English contract drafting skills
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience from an international-oriented in-house corporation or a law firm
  • Experience in wind energy transactions (preferably offshore) or come from a related offshore industry or have other experience with handling large scale international infrastructure transactions 
  • Strong communication & presentation skills and stakeholder management in a multinational, matrixed organisation
  • Working knowledge of FIDIC (Yellow Book) is desirable

This person will ideally be in Aarhus, Denmark but could also be located in Copenhagen, Denmark or Hamburg, Germany.
