Do you understand global grid requirements and specify methods to translate these into design envelopes for wind turbines and electrical balance of plant equipment?  Do you have 15+ years of industrial experience, including hands-on experience with modelling and simulation of power electronic and control equipment in power systems?  Read on… we are currently hiring for a Senior Functional Lead for Grid Models and Analyses.

In Power System Integration, our focus is on development of new plant-level products. This requires a very close interaction with the market to understand the requirements as well as being involved in various innovation activities with external collaborators. The core outputs within Power System Integration are the Vestas Power Plant Controller, electrical simulation models of wind turbines, design of the electrical infrastructure of Vestas renewable hybrid power plants and environmental control of the plant. Our core competencies are within Power System-, Control- and SW- Engineering. In everything we do we aim to display good leadership, and build products based on robust design.
 
As Senior Functional Lead for Grid Models and Analyses you will, be working in a department with four other senior functional leads with reference to the Module Design Owner. You will practice dotted line technical delegation to three functional leads in your area.
 
Responsibilities

  • Understand present and future customer and value chain needs in terms of compliance and usability of electrical simulation models and tools
  • Understand global grid requirements and specify methods to translate these into design envelopes for wind turbines and electrical balance of plant equipment 
  • Represent Vestas in international standardization fora etc. 
  • Define and lead the technology and product roadmaps aligned with the business strategy
  • Act as technical head in especially the scoping phase of complex and cross functional projects 
  • You will be working with these opportunities together with- and through the technical leadership team

 
Qualifications

  • M.Sc. and probably a PhD in Electrical Engineering, and 15+ years of industrial experience
  • Detailed knowledge of transmission system analysis and power system stability phenomena
  • Hands-on experience with modelling and simulation of power electronic and control equipment in power systems
  • Professional communication skills in English - orally and written
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering

Additional information
