Responsibilities
As the Head of Test & Release Management you will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational oversight of the Test & Release Management departments, ensuring the successful delivery and quality assurance of all product releases.

 

  • Strategize and Lead: Develop and implement the overall strategy for Test & Release Management, aligning with organizational goals. Guide and coach the managers of the Release Management and Test Management departments, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Ensure effective coordination and collaboration between the teams
  • Enhance Processes and Measure Effectiveness: Promote the adoption of best practices and innovative solutions to enhance release and test processes. Oversee the development and maintenance of metrics to measure the effectiveness of release and test activities
  • Primary Contact and Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for senior leadership regarding release and test management activities. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates, recommendations, and insights on release and test activities
  • Facilitate Collaboration: Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment and smooth completion of release and test plans
  • Establish Governance and Mitigate Risks: Establish and enforce governance frameworks, standards, and policies for release and test management. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the stability and quality of releases
  • Oversee Approval Processes: Oversee the approval processes, including quality gates and change control boards, to ensure compliance and readiness
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of release and test management practices. Stay current with industry trends and advancements, integrating relevant innovations into the organization's practices. Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and development within the Test & Release Management departments


Qualifications
We are looking for someone with proven experience in release and test management, preferably in a leadership role. You should have a strong understanding of release processes, testing frameworks, and quality standards. Relevant certifications in release and test management are a plus. Key competencies include:

  • In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management processes
  • Proficiency in various testing frameworks, test management tools, and standardization of testing processes
  • Familiarity with industry quality standards, certification processes, and best practices in verification, validation, and certification
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and managing approval processes, including quality gates and change control boards
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively across multiple departments and teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution of release and test plans
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and the ability to identify and implement process enhancements
  • Awareness of current industry trends, advancements, and innovations in release and test management, and the ability to integrate relevant practices into the organization
