Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) serves as the integrated CTO and COO organisation within Vestas, covering the full industrial value chain—from Research & Development, Procurement, and Manufacturing to Supply Chain and Quality.
To ensure strong customer centricity and successful project delivery, VTO operates through a Product Line organisation. This structure combines Regional Engineering & Technology teams with support from Global Functions. Together, these teams manage regional technical front-end activities across the entire customer project lifecycle, while also acting as:
- The ears to the market, capturing regional needs and insights
- The voice of the customer, representing these inputs across the broader organisation
Within this setup, Global Power Plant Solutions is a key Global Function. It enables regional engineering teams by driving technical and functional excellence across three core domains:
- Cybersecurity
- SCADA
- Grid connection
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary interface between regional SCADA teams and central functions (R&D, Service, Digital Solutions)
- Provide expert guidance on SCADA products, including capabilities, processes, and non-standard requests
- Collect, analyse, and translate requirements from customers, regulators, and internal stakeholders into structured deliverables
- Represent the Product Line in development projects, ensuring regional engagement and alignment
- Support regions in deploying SCADA solutions across the full project lifecycle
- Drive process improvements and adoption of tools, including new product releases and automation initiatives
- Lead global SCADA communities, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, training, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation / Control Engineering, Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in SCADA, preferably in development and/or deployment roles. Experience working with Vestas SCADA products (is beneficial)
- Experience within the wind or broader renewable energy industry is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of industry-standard SCADA hardware platforms
- Proven experience with communication protocols such as OPC UA or Modbus
- Hands-on proficiency in Linux, VMware, Windows environments and SQL databases
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and associated tools
