Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within VTO, you'll find our department, Transport Execution, as part of Supply Chain NCE.
The Transport Execution Department manages the end-to-end supply chain of oversized turbine components, ensuring their seamless transport from factories to project sites.
As part of this team, you will assist in the planning and completion of deliveries via road to Vestas’ construction sites. An essential task involves assessing and scrutinizing road modification and permitting services provided by transport companies and road construction suppliers. This involves evaluating both the technical and commercial aspects of these services throughout the project lifecycle.
This role is essential to ensuring that transportation on public routes are properly prepared, enabling the timely and cost-effective delivery of all oversized components to construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct early assessments of road surveys for oversized transports to project sites, identifying feasibility and potential bottlenecks
  • Evaluate and assess road modification proposals for various routes outlined in the road survey
  • Participate in site visits to ensure thorough evaluation
  • Monitor the implementation of road modifications and address short-term changes by coordinating with authorities and subcontractors
  • Provide guidance to transport execution teams on leveraging synergies across multiple projects
  • Maintain a clear understanding of Vestas’ contractual scope and ensure regular alignment with project teams
  • Support the tendering phase to secure optimal service packages from existing suppliers. Assist in identifying and developing new suppliers
     

Qualifications

  • Degree in construction, road construction, or a related permitting sector, combined with several years of relevant experience. Alternatively, experience in operational project freight forwarding or heavy haulage trucking is also considered valuable
  • Good understanding of road modifications, including technical and commercial aspects
  • Experience with CAD or similar tools is beneficial
  • Experience in interacting with relevant authorities or road construction companies
  • Project management skills with an ability to act as an effective intermediary between stakeholders
  • Diplomatic approach to communication, ensuring clarity of goals for all involved parties
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English. Additional language skills are advantageous depending on the geographical location of the project

Additional information
The primary work location for this position is Aarhus, Denmark. However, we are open to discussing alternative office locations within the North & Central European region.
Travel time is expected depending on project's needs.
