We are looking for a release manager with a proven ability to efficiently plan, coordinate, and perform release activities as part of a collaborative team while continuously improving the release processes and automation.

Our ideal candidate has a successful record of helping teams deliver their applications to production, have a risk-based approach adeptly balancing cost and benefit. In addition, you posses a passion for productivity and thrive at solving challenging automation and deployment problems across multiple development teams.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan the release windows and cycles across our portfolio
  • Handle risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality
  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet expectations
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA (Quality Assurance) plans, schedule, and scope changes
  • Handle relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations
  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
  • Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required
  • Negotiate, plan, and handle all release activities
  • Work with release engineers to understand impacts of branches and code merges
  • Maintain the release schedule for core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
  • Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
  • Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists
  • Research new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies and evaluate their application to our needs

 

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of release management experience
  • ITIL Expert or similar certification
  • Solid knowledge in all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Good written and oral English communications skills

 

Competencies

  • Solid coordination and interpersonal skills; team member
  • Ability to discuss and agree on a release plan with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to react to change and adapt the plan quickly
