Project Planner

The project planner function is organized within our portfolio management teams. Furthermore, the project planners will have a dotted reference to our Project Excellence department in Vestas Power Solutions to ensure alignment of tools, processes, and methods. This team is setting the standards for project management and execution.
 

Responsibilities
You will be part of a group of project planners supporting the major projects handled by Product or Module project managers. As split of work content, it would be 98% support to modules. Thereof around 35% sparring with Project Managers/Project excellence and participating in meetings & 65% data quality/-analysis, project planning, system maintenance.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Build a project plan structure and ensure planning level connection 
  • Conduct detailed project planning and scheduling from business activity (level A) to Work Package and task (level C), looking 3-6 months ahead
  • Support project team in time estimation based on historical data for "standard" tasks and deliverables
  • Support project manager in understanding and communicating the project plan elements and progress
  • Perform critical paths analysis on plan schedule
  • Maintain and update project plan
  • Scenario planning if needed to support best available opportunity
  • Mapping of project dependencies across projects
  • Being the point of contact for the team, in relation to project planning tools and processes

You are the kind of person who likes working in an ever-growing environment where detailed planning and organising projects are some of the key factors to effective project execution.
 

Competencies

  • Project estimation methods, planning and scheduling
  • Proficient in Project Planning tools - SAP PPM, Microsoft Project, JIRA
  • Scenario planning, simulating impact of risk on project plan
  • Methodical skills, detail oriented, highly structured
  • IT minded
  • Good at interacting with other people, facilitation and communication
  • Clear understanding of how scheduled project activities are carried out in a real project environment
  • Proficient in Stage Gate Way execution, combined with agile execution 
  • Prince 2 Foundation is a big plus (but can be obtained after job start)
