We are now seeking our new Product Owner who will be crucial in overseeing the digital landscape for Procurement by working closely with the business and making a good executable delivery plan.

 

Responsibilities

The Product Owner will define and communicate a clear product vision aligned with procurement strategy, cost competitiveness, compliance, and sustainability goals, while ensuring effective backlog management, prioritizing features based on business value, risk reduction, and user impact across global procurement organizations.

Further, the main responsibilities will include:

  • Product ownership and management for Digital Sourcing and Contracting
  • Functional leadership of the product team together with the Lead Architect
  • Working with the scrum master to facilitate all Agile ceremonies including responsibility for the product roadmap and working together with the Business Area Lead to determine prioritization of initiatives
  • Manage the continuous discovery process, ensuring early engagement with colleagues across the company to understand business capability gaps and translate those, together with the lead architect, into digital solutions which are then anchored and adopted to secure maximum value
  • Creating and maintaining value recognition metrics that guide team decision making and ensure that what we build matches business need and is fully adopted, generating real value for Vestas
  • Acting as the bridge between Procurement and Digital teams and translates complex procurement processes (sourcing, contracting, supplier management) into clear, actionable digital requirements

 

Qualifications

We believe that you are an experienced product Owner or Product Manager with the following experience:

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, business, or a related field
  • Experience owning digital products or platforms within Procurement, Supply Chain, ERP, or Enterprise SaaS environments combined with solid understanding of sourcing, RFx, contract lifecycle management (CLM), supplier onboarding, and compliance processes
  • A background in Procurement or adjacent functions and working closely with these functions
  • Certified Product Owner (CSPO, PSPO) or equivalent product management training with an understanding of agile principles, user stories, acceptance criteria, and MVP thinking
  • Practical exposure to sourcing and contracting platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Ivalua, Jaggaer, or similar) and an understanding of integrations with ERP systems (SAP) and data flows across procurement ecosystems
  • Extensive experience working in agile product teams (Scrum/Kanban), facilitating sprint planning, reviews, and refinements and aligning UX, developers, architects, and business stakeholders toward common outcomes

Additional information

Your work location will be Aarhus, or Copenhagen, Denmark, where other team members and stakeholders are located. You should expect approximately 10-20 annual travel days in this role.
