Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within VTO, you'll find our department, Offshore Product Management, as part of Offshore Solutions.
In our department, we are focused on advancing the technical aspects and launching new offshore product offerings into the market.The tasks range from market understanding, product requirements, product verification, scoping, technical project management, risk management, go-to-market plans, market documentation and launch training.
Focus is on securing cross functional alignment across modules, and across the full value chain from sales, procurement, manufacturing to transport, installation, and service.
Our team is located in Aarhus, Denmark, and we work across all regions ranging from America, Europe to Asia-Pacific. You will work with very passionate people from many areas of the world that is always willing to support.
Responsibilities
As a Product Manager - Offshore, you will be an integral part of the offshore Product Management team, focusing on maturing, developing, and launching offshore wind turbine offerings. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Market Analysis and Requirement Consolidation: Gather and interpret market use cases and product requirements
- Technical and Project Leadership: Oversee the technical execution of features and complex product offerings
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and support the preparation of comprehensive go-to-market plans and documentation
- Risk Management: Identify and manage product-level risks, ensuring alignment with commercial projects
- Sales and Commercial Leadership: Drive the technical and commercial aspects of restricted, early, and regular sales processes
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with a network of stakeholders, including sales, procurement, manufacturing, transport, construction, and service teams
- Depending on the project's scope, you may assume the role of Product Lead, Product Manager, or both
Qualifications
Your qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years in product development, technical project management, or product management
- Familiarity with stage-gate development processes and a keen interest in go-to-market strategies
- Prior experience in the wind industry or within a large international company specializing in product development, manufacturing, and sales of complex products is beneficial
- Motivated to work with diverse teams across the entire value chain, engaging with different cultures and time zones
