Vestas Technology and Operations > Procurement > Transport
Vestas Procurement is the business unit in Vestas responsible for all procurement activities. Within a matrix organization, with global and regional roles, Global Procurement ensures the deployment of common strategy and processes with the same overall objectives across all Vestas regions.
Customer Project Execution (CPX) and Global CPX, Logistics and Indirect Procurement (CLIP) are the departments within Vestas that collaborate and are responsible for all purchasing and subcontracting requirements within field works (civil and electrical works, mechanical assembly, etc., both onshore and offshore).
Offshore Vessel, Aviation & Ports (VAP) Procurement is the new area within CLIP that will be responsible for all Offshore VAP procurement activities for offshore project execution.
 

Responsibilities

  • The Offshore VAP Procurement Head will be leading the Global Offshore VAP Procurement team, the global VAP commodity strategy definition and the processes supporting the procurement activity linked to the construction and servicing of our offshore wind turbines, all in coordination with Vestas' regions and other relevant global and regional stakeholders engaged with the offshore project execution
  • Lead Global team and coordinate the Regional Offshore VAP Procurement teams within the Vestas Procurement matrix organization
  • Lead the definition of Vestas strategy for chartering of jack-up vessels for construction and service, Service Operation Vessels (SOVs), Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs), helicopters and drones, in close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders and aligned with Vestas' strategy
  • Lead and guide the definition and implementation of the corresponding commodity strategies, aligned with Vestas' objectives and priorities
  • Lead and guide Supplier Relationship Management through the different teams in the matrix: identification of potential suppliers, development and maintenance of relationships, negotiation and contracts closing, etc.
  • Ensure and drive cross-regional and cross-functional collaboration, working with the relevant business functions (Sales, Construction, Service, Legal, Finance) with an end-to-end value chain perspective

 

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in leading multicultural teams, located in multiple locations, preferably in procurement roles within the offshore wind farm industry
  • Solid experience working with VAP assets used in the offshore wind farm construction and service phases
  • Extensive experience with negotiating contracts, including the Bimco contract formats used in the offshore industry and having familiarity with FIDIC/LOCIC contractual framework
  • A commercial and/or contractual background, preferably combined with a good level of operational knowledge of the offshore industry
  • Experience from working with large scale offshore projects
  • Experience from working in or with large, global corporations and matrix organizational environments is preferred.
  • Fluent English is mandatory (written and spoken). Additional languages will be valued
