Global Offshore Operations is a part of Vestas Global Service organisation. The Service organisation acts as the central anchor for gathering service requirements for new product development — establishing clear mandates, responsibilities, and accountability. It ensures full-service value chain integration, represents customer needs, and secures scalability and operational readiness for new products. Platform Management is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of a given offshore wind turbine platform. This includes defining and executing short- and long-term service strategies, monitoring service costs, and implementing cost-reduction initiatives—while ensuring safe and stable operations. We act as the global coordination hub for the platform, ensuring alignment and collaboration across all regions and a unified approach to platform performance, service quality, and strategic development. Our Platform Management team is now looking for their next Offshore Service Design Owner who will be a crucial part of the team and greater organisation.

 

Responsibilities


As The Offshore Service Design owner, you will be responsible for defining and integrating service requirements within new turbine products while managing service, risk & cost optimization for both existing and new products within your own area. You will work with subject matter experts, project teams, regions, product managers and technical sales to determine the responsibility of Service operations in delivering any new service offered to a customer while securing that the Service department is properly prepared to support new products in operations. In addition, the role responsibilities include:

  • Being the technical “Go-To” person for all products within own area as responsible for executing Product Level Service optimization on new and existing WTG platforms
  • Advance the cross-product agenda by converting strategy into actionable activities and initiatives
  • Represent Service on new product scoping projects (pre-G2)
  • Provide technical review signoff at product level
  • Responsible for technical risk management communication and escalation for all products and projects within own area
  • Support and guide development of product projects as needed and support on technical service-related due diligence for key account customers
  • Set objectives for measuring the success of implementation and following up on these objectives/measures

 

Qualifications


On a professional level, we expect you to have the following experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent advanced work experience demonstrating the ability to understand and explain a variety of technologies
  • Experience from the wind industry including high-level turbine knowledge
  • Extensive experience from a similar role in the engineering or service business
  • Senior experience from a global corporation, including exposure to senior management
  • Knowledge in explaining technical issues clearly at all corporate levels and to a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Good market understanding of customers in the service industry, their needs and the typical technical issues that arise
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written

Additional information


Primary work location is Aarhus, Denmark. This position might require up to 20 days of travelling per year, mostly in Europe but some transcontinental travel could occur.
