Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is the integrated CTO and COO organization within Vestas, encompassing the full industrial value chain — from Research & Development, Procurement and Manufacturing to Supply Chain and Quality. VTO’s mission is to transform the way Vestas engineers, sources, contracts, manufactures and delivers its products to consistently meet the highest standards for quality, cost efficiency and time-to-market.
The Construction Bill of Material Team is part of Documentation Excellence within VTO, R&D, under the Value Chain Services function. As a global organization, the team manages Engineering Change Management and is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing BoMs and Routings for Construction. Our work has significant impact across the entire value chain, supporting seamless collaboration and alignment with key areas such as Sales, Engineering Design, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Service.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily master data operations, including material master data creation, maintenance, and continuous process improvement initiatives
- Ensure high standards of data quality and accuracy, taking ownership of deliverables and supporting the team in maintaining consistency within SAP and related systems
- Monitor and report on master data delivery progress, maintaining clear visibility of task status and ensuring timely execution of activities
- Leading the onboarding and training of new-joiners in the master data area
- Oversee inputs from cross-functional teams, including VSI (Lifecycle Industrialization), particularly related to spare part creation and maintenance
- Serve as the first point of contact for master data and costing-related queries
- Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders (e.g., VSI, Finance, ECM Purchasing), ensuring smooth, primarily transactional, cross-functional coordination
Qualifications
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively across international teams
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, suited for working in a cross-functional and primarily system-driven environment
- Experience within manufacturing or similar industries, such as wind energy, aerospace, automotive, or related sectors
- Solid understanding of ERP systems, preferably SAP, with the ability to recognize the business impact of data changes (other ERP systems also considered)
- Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., PTC Windchill or equivalent) is beneficial
- Basic product or technical understanding, ideally within wind energy or complex industrial products is beneficial
- Knowledge of Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes or similar workflows is beneficial
