Vestas Bachelor Internship Program for Marine Engineer (Maskinmester) Students (4-month duration)

Department Overview: The Main Component Exchange (MCE) department is part of Vestas' Offshore Service division in the North Central Europe (NCE) region. Our primary goal is to ensure the efficient exchange of major components within our fleet, providing outstanding customer service and maintaining the high standards Vestas is known for. The MCE team is responsible for a variety of tasks, including strategic planning, operational improvements, quality management, and ensuring health and safety across complex MCE projects in the offshore sector. In the MCE department you will gain a wide set of skills. The MCE activities are a mix of installation, commissioning and service competencies. This includes electrical and mechanical activities.

The Role: As an intern, you'll be working at a technical level, gaining hands-on experience in tasks closely related to your field of study. Together, we will identify a subject for your bachelor's thesis that is both relevant to the company and central to the machinist profession. The internship will involve a mix of developmental and routine tasks, which include the operation and maintenance of systems, process optimization, and potentially contributing to planning, management, and safety initiatives.

You'll participate in day-to-day activities within our department and gain exposure to various technical systems. The role will also allow you to collaborate on improving operations and ensuring environmental and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a skilled team managing the maintenance of turbines in Northern Europe aboard Jack-up vessels.
  • Uphold Vestas' safety and quality standards in all tasks.
  • The internship will begin in August 2025 with an induction at our headquarters in Aarhus, followed by GWO (Global Wind Organization) training.
  • You'll follow a work rotation schedule, typically involving 2.5 weeks of project work followed by 1.5 weeks at home, giving you ample time to focus on your thesis.
  • Throughout the program, Vestas will maintain open communication about your performance and future career opportunities, with a potential transition to a supervisor role.
  • Expect additional project-specific training and flexible shift patterns, including day and night shifts.

Upon completing the internship and successfully passing your exams, there is a strong possibility of being offered a permanent position as an MCE Supervisor or Deputy Site Manager Trainee, providing you with valuable technical experience and a shortcut into the Vestas' talent pipeline.

Key Learning Areas:

  • Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic work on wind turbines.

  • Ensuring a safe working environment in compliance with Vestas' Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Supporting various departments within the Vestas value chain.
