As a part of Vestas Power Solutions, the Loads and Controls Offshore Products department is responsible for developing future Offshore wind turbine controller software and hardware but also loads and control solutions ensuring optimal performance of our products under all conditions.

In this position, you will join a new and blooming domain within the Floating Offshore business. You will take the lead in the strategic development of new Floating Turbine technologies to deliver turbine-level commissioning ensuring an optimized product is delivered to the customer. The department consists of highly skilled and experienced engineers and assumes full accountability for all aspects of the loads and control solution delivered to the wind turbine development projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the certification process of Floating Offshore wind turbines
  • Development and validation of WTG + Floater aeroelastic and hydrodynamic models
  • Risk management activities, such as failure mode and effect analysis
  • Development of code/scripts and improvement of processes to ensure a lean and efficient execution

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in modelling of mooring lines (e.g. Orcaflex)
  • Programming skills in Matlab and or Python
  • Knowledge of wind turbine control strategies

  • You can meet your deadlines with the right quality and have a creative approach to solutions
  • Good communication skills and fluent in English (speaking and writing)
