Tower Module in Vestas Power Solutions is developing and maintaining the complete Vestas tower program. The tasks range from business case evaluations to structural engineering, including FEA, requirement management, design risk assessment, test planning and project execution and the creation of certification documentation.

The tower module team is located in three hubs: Aarhus in Denmark, Porto in Portugal and Chennai, India. You will sit amongst very enthusiastic people from many areas of the world who are always willing to help.

 

Responsibilities

As Lead Structural Designer in Tower Structure Offshore, your primary responsibility will be to develop and mature tower and interface solutions for offshore wind. In greater detail, your area of responsibility will be:

  • Technical Lead on primary steel design for Offshore Tower Structure

  • Create, delegate and coordinate structure-related work packages for the structure team

  • Coordinate design requirements with Value Chain stakeholders

  • Mentor and train junior employees in the design of primary steel for tower structure

  • Manage product requirements and create tower solutions to fulfil the requirements

 

Qualifications

  • Master or PhD degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering

  • The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with the design of offshore steel structures, alternatively, experience with steel design for other large constructions according to Eurocodes

  • Experience with dynamic calculations

  • Experience in dealing with Requirements and Design Failure Mode Evaluation and Analysis (DFMEA)
