Vestas Technology & Operations > Product Line ONS > Portfolio & Project Execution

At Vestas, we power a sustainable future through world class engineering and execution. Our Portfolio & Project Execution (P&PE) function turns strategy into measurable outcomes across hardware, software and services. We govern delivery with transparency, enable smart trade offs and create conditions for high performance and psychological safety. If you enjoy solving complex, cross company problems and enabling faster, safer, better decisions, this is where you can do your most meaningful work.
The Portfolio Lead Specialist operates and continuously improves the VTO enterprise portfolio framework-driving alignment on intake, scoring, capacity and dependency views across Product Lines and Functions. You own the integrity of the single system of record, orchestrate the Portfolio Board cadence, and deliver decision-ready insights that enable leaders to balance value, cost, schedule and risk.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and continuously improve the portfolio intake and scoring process across Product Lines and Functions, ensuring business cases, risks, dependencies, resource requirements, and stage-gate plans are complete, consistent, and decision-ready
  • Own and maintain the portfolio system of record, ensuring portfolio roadmaps, backlogs, and executive dashboards are accurate, transparent, and trusted across the organization
  • Establish and maintain capacity, cost, and lead-time visibility, highlight resource constraints and facilitating cross-functional prioritization and trade-off decisions
  • Orchestrate portfolio governance forums, including Portfolio Board preparation, decision materials, meeting facilitation, and follow-up actions to ensure decisions are executed effectively
  • Drive portfolio benefits realization by linking initiatives to strategic objectives, tracking value delivery, and ensuring compliance with governance, stage-gate, and change-control processes
  • Develop insightful portfolio analyses, scenarios, and recommendations that support value-based decision making and enable executive stakeholders to make informed choices
  • Promote effective stakeholder engagement across Product Lines, Functions, Finance, and PMO teams to align priorities, resolve dependencies, and optimize portfolio performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5–8+ years of experience in portfolio management, project management, PMO, or business operations within technology, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments
  • Proven experience managing portfolio governance processes, including intake, prioritization, scoring, resource planning, and change control with measurable business outcomes
  • Solid analytical capabilities with experience interpreting portfolio metrics, capacity planning, schedule performance, business value, and financial benefits
  • Advanced proficiency with portfolio and project management tools such as Power BI, Azure DevOps, Jira, MS Project, or Primavera; experience with portfolio platforms (e.g., Planisware,
  • Project Online, or Cplace) is an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience preparing executive-level reporting, facilitating governance boards, and documenting strategic portfolio decisions
  • Thorough understanding of portfolio management principles, business case evaluation, and benefits realization practices

Competencies

  • Strategic mindset: Aligns portfolio investments with business objectives, OKRs, and value creation priorities while challenging low-value initiatives
  • Data integrity and transparency: Promotes high-quality portfolio data and establishes a trusted single source of truth for decision-making
  • Decision support excellence: Translates complex portfolio information into clear insights, scenarios, and actionable recommendations
  • Stakeholder influence: Builds strong partnerships across Product Lines, Functions, Finance, and leadership teams, effectively influencing without formal authority
  • Governance and compliance orientation: Ensures adherence to stage-gate processes, change management standards, and audit requirements
  • Risk and dependency management: Anticipates constraints, identifies bottlenecks, manages interdependencies, and drives proactive mitigation actions
  • Collaboration, inclusion, and safety focus: Demonstrates integrity, fosters an inclusive and psychologically safe culture, and prioritizes health, safety, and environmental (HSE) principles in all decisions
