Vestas Power Solutions is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. To put it short, we are shaping the future of modern energy and we operate on a global scale with more than 3,000 employees. The Release Management department integrates and tests software from +250 developers and delivers the software for all Vestas' sites including Turbine Software, SCADA, Power plant controller and several centrally hosted applications. The role of Release Management is to ensure a smooth-running build and release pipeline that enables a fast time to market and fast feedback for developers from production-like environments for both central and decentralized applications. We do this by utilizing the newest technology and best practices within DevOps.  

The department currently consists of 26 employees located in DK and Porto. We offer the possibility for new employees to attend relevant training courses and conferences to strengthen your skills, and you will be mentored by experienced team members. As Integrator in Release management, your main responsibility will include: 

  • Continuously work on improving cycle/lead time and quality of software delivered out of Vestas Power Solutions
  • Collaborate with highly skilled people across different software development teams in Skejby, Porto and Chennai to ensure we have a stable software for our turbine fleet.  Assist technical support worldwide
  • Monitor our automated CI / CD pipeline
  • Investigate when builds are failing either on PC or HW 
  • Revert software deliveries if bugs are detected
  • Prepare releases for our turbine fleet. Remote upload software to our test turbines across Europe. Follow the software end-to-end from merge to running in turbines. Maintain and publish release notes both for internal and external customers

In this role we expect that you have: 

  • Experience with Jenkins, Configuration Management and with GIT
  • Experience with Python would be an added value, but not a requirement
  • Ability to communicate with many stakeholders in a big organization 
  • Education within software would be a benefit
  • Hardware understanding would be an added value, but not a requirement
