Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, Product Functions Noise & Environmental Effects, as part of Product Solutions & Integration.
The Product Solutions & Integration is responsible for designing the product architecture and product roadmap in response to market roadmap requirements, translate product architecture and roadmap into module requirements, and full value chain integration. Our team is part of Product Solutions & Integration and works on behalf of the product owner with the responsibility of developing and maintaining relevant strategies, requirements, technologies, and concepts of our wind turbines within established areas.
Our team is responsible for design guidelines, strategies and requirements within the following areas EMC, lightning, Internal power quality (IPQ), Radio Equipment (RED), LV protection, Earthing and grounding. In essence, we ensure robust and compliant design of our products. We are involved in new turbine development as well as maintenance and optimization of our existing products. 

Responsibilities
As a member of the Noise & Environmental Effects team, your primary tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Having a important role in developing our lightning and EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) simulation framework
  • Utilizing simulations to inform and drive design decisions
  • Serving as a subject matter expert in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3), guiding design teams to ensure E3 compliance
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of functional strategies and technology roadmaps for various E3 areas, including:
    • EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility)
    • Lightning Protection
    • EMF (Electromagnetic Fields)
    • RED (Radio Equipment Directive)
    • Low Voltage Protection
    • Internal Power Quality (IPQ)
    • Internal Earthing
    • Turbine Grounding


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • Over 5 years of experience in electromagnetic simulations
  • Good understanding of electrical circuit theory
  • In-depth knowledge of electromagnetic simulations and simulation software, particularly COMSOL and CST
  • Experience with parallel computing techniques and high-performance computing, such as Azure CycleCloud
  • Proficiency in programming languages, including Java, Python, and MATLAB
  • Experience in at least one design discipline: requirement management, system design, test specifications, test execution (both lab and in situ), test reporting, root cause analysis, and certification
