Responsibilities
The overall purpose of our team is to pave the way for the near future wind energy expansion worldwide. A key to success is reliable and robust mechanical design which can create certainty for our customers.  Your responsibility will be to identify the most important areas to improve and deliver innovative solutions including mechanical design, structural calculations, and validation. The work area primarily involves concept development within special tower concepts, foundation concepts and (large) service tool innovation - Onshore and offshore.  You will have a key role in ensuring Vestas continue to develop cost efficient and innovative solutions to meet the future demand.
You will get the opportunity to be involved in a vast number of different tasks such as

  • Design mechanical system
  • Simulation and strength verification of complex mechanical structures
  • Programming 
  • Identifying and analyzing failure modes of mechanical structures
  • Contribute to cost-efficient solutions that meet future energy demands
  • Technical feasibility studies and concept benchmarking
  • Development of concept demonstrators, specification of test procedures and evaluation of test results


Qualifications
You have a technical master (or higher) degree such as M.Sc. in Engineering. You have:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience with wind turbine mechanical design
  • Broad physical and technical understanding
  • Experience with ANSYS workbench, APDL/Classic
  • Proficient in Python and MATLAB programming languages
  • Applicants with familiarity in mechanical systems related to wind turbines, including towers, foundations, or large-scale service concepts, are highly valued
  • Programming skills (Python, MATLAB, or similar)
  • Some experience with offshore structural design

Additional information 
Your primary work location will be our offices in Aarhus, DK. You will work close together with colleagues globally in Vestas and partners and universities outside Vestas, so 10-20 days of travel pr year will be expected.
