Research & Development function at Vestas is the driving force behind innovation in modern energy solutions. As a critical part of this ecosystem, the Control Hardware department—under Nacelles R&D—focuses on developing, improving, and testing next-generation technologies that shape the future of wind energy. Within this department, the SCADA Hardware Sub Module plays a pivotal role in advancing our control hardware capabilities. We leverage advanced methods such as system engineering, modularization, and simulation to create intelligent and efficient solutions for wind turbines and SCADA systems. Our responsibilities span both new product development and ongoing enhancement and maintenance of the existing SCADA product portfolio.

Responsibilities
As a Lead Electrical Engineer in the team, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Drive SCADA hardware development projects from early concept through design, verification, and implementation, in alignment with Vestas’ stage gate model
- Prepare detailed technical purchase specifications to ensure high-quality deliverables from external suppliers within agreed timelines
- Oversee and execute engineering change tasks related to existing SCADA hardware products
- Develop and continuously update comprehensive technical documentation for SCADA hardware systems
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and coordinate with external suppliers to ensure alignment and quality across all development phases
- Act as a key technical contact in customer and supplier meetings, offering insightful support and guidance
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering (MarEng) or a related technical field
- Solid understanding of low-voltage (LV) panel design and LV component/system testing
- Familiarity with hardware, software, and operating systems from key IT component vendors
- Knowledge of international electrical and safety standards, such as IEC 60204-1 (Machine Directive), IEC, and UL standards
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Experience in SCADA system design is beneficial
- Previous experience working in a global, cross-functional environment is beneficial

The primary work location for this position is Aarhus, Denmark.
