Vestas Factory

Do you enjoy developing and expanding AI/ML solutions that deliver measurable business results? Do you enjoy working at the intersection of product, engineering and business to turn advanced AI capabilities into production-ready solutions? Then you might be our new AI/ML Engineer Specialist.

Digital Solutions & Development > Digital Solutions > AI/ML

As part of the Digital Development Platform, the AI/ML Chapter is the home base for AI/ML specialization and supports Engineering Excellence, capability building, and scalable delivery throughout Vestas. You will be part of a global team spanning Denmark and India, partnering closely with product owners, AI/ML engineers and business stakeholders to design, build, and scale AI/ML, GenAI, and agentic solutions across the value chain from R&D and manufacturing to supply chain and service.

The chapter focuses on building and scaling AI/ML capabilities for high-value and autonomous flow use cases. It maintains alignment across product areas, keeps the organization prepared for emerging paradigms like LLMs and agentic AI, and supports scalable delivery through a balanced approach of internal development and strategic partnerships. With disciplined engineering practices, a data-centered approach, and close collaboration with business partners, the team consistently raises AI/ML delivery standards and supports solutions that improve visibility, optimization, and innovation across the enterprise.

As part of the broader Autonomous Flows initiative, the team contributes to building next-generation intelligent systems and agentic workflows that enhance operational efficiency and unlock new business value. We collaborate closely with platform, product and governance teams to ensure scalable, responsible, and impactful adoption of AI across Vestas.

Responsibilities

As a senior member of the product team, you will collaborate with product owners, AI/ML engineers, developers and business stakeholders to build and scale AI/ML capabilities in digital products. The position calls for collaborative informal leadership, with an emphasis on speeding up delivery and increasing business impact.

  • Lead the design, delivery, and scaling of ML, GenAI, and agentic solutions to generate measurable business impact across the Vestas value chain
  • Drive the integration of AI and ML capabilities into enterprise applications to support smooth adoption and measurable value
  • Shape architecture choices that enable AI/ML solutions to scale reliably and ensure maintainability over its lifecyle
  • Establish and promote reusable patterns and engineering standards for scalable delivery, AI-ready data, and trusted AI automation
  • Own the end-to-end delivery across multiple initiatives, balancing speed, quality and evolving priorities
  • Guide stakeholders on AI/ML strategy, shaping solution design to align with business objectives and governance requirements

Qualifications

You have a solid background in machine learning and software engineering, along with effective communication and stakeholder collaboration skills. You bring substantial experience in creating and scaling AI/ML systems for production, including end-to-end ownership from defining the problem to launching and iterating on the solution. You are recognized for your depth in one or more areas such as NLP/GenAI/Agentic systems, computer vision, ML engineering or large-scale AI systems. We hope that you are able to recognize yourself in the following:

  • A master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, data science, engineering) or equivalent practical experience, combined with approximately 10 years of experience in ML engineering, designing, delivering, and scaling production-grade AI/ML solutions
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and production-level software engineering, with practical experience using ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch, GenAI/agentic frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and Pydantic AI, and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code to speed up delivery and support innovation
  • Demonstrated depth in AI experimentation and modeling, with experience designing robust, scalable training and inference pipelines on cloud platforms such as Azure and Snowflake, along with CI/CD deployment in IaC environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end delivery of AI/ML solutions, make architecture decisions, and integrate enterprise systems through APIs, microservices, Docker-based containerization, Kubernetes deployment, and scalable, production-ready engineering practices
  • Extensive experience in MLOps and scalable AI/ML systems and deployment engineering, with work spanning ML, GenAI, and agentic solutions in production; tuning reliability, performance, latency, throughput, and cost; and establishing governance, monitoring, observability, automated retraining, versioning, and data-drift detection across AI/ML environments

Competencies

As our team is globally founded and very collaborative, we hope you will be part of the mutual enablement we emphasize. We believe that a way to do so it through:

  • Effective collaboration among teams spread across Denmark, India, and Portugal, with heightened cross-cultural awareness and clear communication
  • Skilled at bringing product, AI/ML engineering, platform, and MLOps teams together around shared engineering outcomes
  • Demonstrated skill in mentoring and empowering teams through knowledge sharing, best practices, and informal leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to align AI architecture and development standards, including building agreement in technical forums with enterprise architects and technical leads
