Global IT enables digital services and offerings in Vestas. With reference to the Group CIO, Global IT is responsible for everything from IT strategy, business engagement and requirements gathering to project implementations, infrastructure operations, service integrations and end user support.
You will join an ongoing project, Performance Insights, which is responsible for developing and maturing end to end monitoring capabilities for our various IT workloads and services to provide the respective domain teams with better insights into their service dependencies and performance, for faster incident resolution and to proactively identify specific areas for improvement. 
The core project team is working on 3 primary areas: event management, service mapping and discovery. It is still a small team but it will grow to a diverse team with colleagues with different background and skills We are a tight knit unit, committed to learn from and collaborate with each other. You'll be part of building our team and services from almost scratch. You will also have the opportunity to learn about several new tools that we are using or will introduce within our technology stack. You can expect to work in a new emerging area which will directly contribute to elevating Business Value for our IT services.

As an IT Service Monitoring Engineer you will bring your knowledge of various monitoring tools and your curiosity into play in both analyzing and generating insights from various tools and in implementation/ configuration of new services into existing tools. 

Your main responsibility is to drive the implementation and to analyze and interpret the insights the monitoring tools will generate. We are currently looking to implement Digital Experience monitoring tools to provide traceability of issues and enhance the end-user experience. Centered around your analytical capabilities and your innovative approach to realm of monitoring, you are expected to:

  • Participate in design, development and implementation of end-to-end monitoring solution as well as Identify gaps in existing monitoring solutions and recommend remedial actions
  • Maintain a modern enterprise infrastructure introduced with the new monitoring solution
  • Work with stakeholders to develop correlation, visualizations, reports and dashboards
  • Create and maintain documentation specific to monitoring tools and data mapping/relationships
  • Help build a business service map showing a visual representation of the hierarchical relationships between all services and their component configuration items
  • Aim towards developing solution design, architectural blueprints and be a technical advisor 
  • Drive reliability, availability, and performance initiatives through a quantitative lens


Ideally you have good technical knowledge and experience in implementing and operating ServiceNow ITOM and one or more of the DEM tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, Lakeside or Nexthink and cloud monitoring tools like Azure Monitor or Application Insights – however if you do not have several years of experience with the tools but have the passion and commitment we are looking for we are also very interested in hearing from you. 
We look for the following qualifications: 

  • A bachelor or a master's degree in IT, Engineering or a similar related education  
  • Ideally experience with ServiceNow ITOM - implementation and operations of event management and instrumentation of Discovery and Service Mapping
  • Experience working with instrumenting workloads on DEM or APM or EUM tools (desirable)
  • Experience with gathering and organizing large amounts of data to use for instrumentation into an Enterprise monitoring solution
  • Diverse and hands-on engineering skills to troubleshoot and implement new monitoring tools and capabilities end-to-end, with excellent analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with cloud environments in Azure, utilize IaaS, Pass, and SaaS Cloud Service model in Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of enterprise web application with distributed components, web services and Microservices using various system level and Object-Oriented architectures.



  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal
  • Proactive team player who can work with minimal guidance
  • Ability to collaborate with various architecture teams i.e., Applications, Network, Database, Infrastructure, Security, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to a quickly changing environment and interact with a broad user base with diverse needs and functional responsibilities
  • Problem solving approach and self-driven
  • Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully
