The HSE department is focused on supporting and empowering vestas to build HSE Capacity at every level of the organization. We aim to ensure that every leader and employee has access to the necessary tools, systems and processes to ensure everyone goes home safely every day.
As Regional Head of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), you are entrusted with developing regional action plans and advancing strategic endeavours that contribute to a culture of safety, the reduction of work-related risks, and the maintenance of compliance with established safety, health, and environmental standards at every Vestas NCE site and operational sphere.
Responsibilities
- Provide HSE oversight across various activities, including repair centers, supply chain logistics, service projects, construction sites, factories, and office environments.
- Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international HSE regulations and company standards.
- Strengthen safety culture by establishing and reinforcing policies, procedures, behaviors, and initiatives.
- Establish clear communication channels for HSE across all AME sites, engaging with stakeholders such as the Regional President, VPs, and HSE teams.
- Identify and mitigate HSE risks proactively and oversee the investigation of significant HSE incidents with thorough root cause analysis.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives by analysing safety performance data, identifying trends, and devising action plans.
- Develop and enforce standardized safety protocols, conduct regular safety audits and inspections, and implement tailored training programs aligned with global frameworks.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, with a Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSP, NEBOSH, ISO Lead Auditor) being highly favoured.
- 10-15 years of experience in HSE leadership roles, managing regional or multi-site HSE programs.
- Experience in high-risk industries (e.g., construction, logistics, energy) with a deep understanding of safety issues and best practices.

Proven ability to manage regional or multi-site HSE programs effectively.

Deep understanding of safety issues and best practices in high-risk industries such as construction, logistics, and energy.

Expertise in implementing a major HSE platform across a large, multi-site region; Sphera experience preferred.

Demonstrated success in creating and instituting HSE strategies that lead to significant improvements in safety standards.

Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, leading incident investigations, and engaging with regulatory bodies.

Strong leadership and organizational skills, capable of influencing at all levels within a large, complex, matrix environment.

Effective in developing and executing operational and behavioural safety strategies.

Skilled in interpreting safety data, evaluating risks, and crafting data-driven solutions.
