The Global HSE department is a diverse team spread geographically across the organization, supporting manufacturing sites globally. The department sustains all HSE matters as part of the ‘Vestas way to market’ for new factories and platforms. Additionally, the department plays a vital role in supporting Manufacturing leadership teams on their transformation journey, improving HSE performance and ensuring local compliance across a global production network.
Responsibilities
In this key role, you will serve as a central member of the Global HSE Leadership Team, contributing to the development and execution of the global HSE strategy with a primary focus on manufacturing environments. You will provide strategic input to ensure the tactical plan reflects the HSE Risk Profile for Manufacturing, securing that all operations understand their legal obligations and have the systems, processes, and capabilities required for consistent compliance. Further, your focus will be to
- Oversee major manufacturing transformation initiatives aimed at significantly improving HSE performance and maturing HSE culture
- Ensure consistent execution of the Global HSE Management System across all manufacturing sites, aligning work practices with global minimum standards
- Facilitate reporting of key HSE data metrics and review performance drivers to identify current and emerging risks; ensure Capacity Action Plans and collaborate with Segments and Factories on improvement execution
- Support Segments in meeting Vestas corporate safety, sustainability, and environmental objectives—promoting a strong HSE continuous improvement culture and securing implementation of Global Tactical initiatives
- Execute and safeguard assurance processes and audits in alignment with the Global HSE Assurance framework, including incident investigations, RCA, and Environmental Management System processes required for consistent CSRD reporting
- Coordinate HSE Technical Transfer between factories to ensure safe, consistent, and efficient technology implementation
- Establish mechanisms ensuring NPI considers HSE requirements, implement HSE assurance and sign‑off protocols, and provide assurance that external factories comply with Vestas minimum HSE standards
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you are likely to bring
- A university degree in Human Factors Engineering, Ergonomics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience dedicated to HSE roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment, with solid insight into production processes
- Documented experience leading HSE‑related transformation projects at scale
- Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment, new product introduction, and technology transfer
- Knowledge of global HSE standards and how to apply them in an operational manufacturing context (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
- Experience working in an international, complex company structure
- Proficiency in English

Additional information
Your primary work location will be Aarhus, Denmark. Please note that this role includes travel activities of up to 120 days per year internationally.
