Vestas Technology & Operations > Research & Development (R&D) > Commercial Concept & Business Validation

Innovation and Concepts is the front end of new technology development and conceptual testing of new and innovative solutions. We manage cross functional projects with speed and agility as a core skill and ensure that all projects are followed by solid commercial assessment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Continuing the journey of quantifying value for our projects and ensuring business sanity in all projects across the portfolio
  • Manage the strategic annual wheel for updating Innovation and Concepts roadmaps, value assessment and competence evaluation
  • Manage the annual strategic planning cycle, including roadmap updates, value assessments, and capability evaluations for the department
  • Support the development of technology strategies by assessing emerging technologies, market impact, intellectual property considerations, and future investment priorities
  • Partner closely with technical experts, product managers, and digital transformation teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear commercial recommendations
  • Develop executive-ready material, business cases, presentations, and strategic decision support for senior stakeholders across Vestas
  • Act as a trusted partner to the VP and management team, coordinating strategic initiatives and supporting decision making across functions and organizational levels

 

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Economics, Business Development, Finance, Strategy, or a related field
  • Significant experience in commercial strategy, business development, portfolio management, or technology-driven business validation
  • Experience from the wind industry is highly preferred, with broader energy transition experience also considered relevant
  • Solid financial acumen with the ability to build and challenge business cases and communicate in a commercial and financial context
  • Experience working in complex technical environments involving multiple disciplines such as engineering, digital solutions, manufacturing, infrastructure, or R&D
  • Demonstrated ability to guide stakeholders without direct authority and advance initiatives across organizational boundaries
  • Experience preparing strategic presentations and decision material for senior management and executive stakeholders

  • Solid commercial mindset with the ability to identify, quantify, and communicate value, even in highly innovative and uncertain contexts
  • Skilled storyteller who can transform complex technical and strategic topics into compelling and easily understood messages
  • Curious and interested in understanding advanced technologies and their business implications
  • Effective stakeholder management skills and confidence engaging with specialists, managers, and senior executives alike
  • Structured and initiative-taking, with the ability to manage recurring governance processes and strategic initiatives independently
  • Build strong collaboration in agile, cross-functional environments
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions and bringing new perspectives to business cases, innovation processes, and strategic decisions
